Hi all, i am brand new to electronics! ! I have been researching how to build a dc boost converter with an inducter coil and a manual switch. This seema to work fine (i get the dvc), the manual switch is the problem, and as fast as the volts appear....they again disappear, also even with major volts the motor wont run. What i have is a 20v solar panel and i want it to generate 30vdc with matching amps to run a small electric motor. (Ps : the motor runs perfectly on a 12vdc battery, but not at all on the solar panel ! (Panel doea have power, tested on smaller motors) Hope you guys can help. Thanks !!

 

If the panel power at 20V can't drive the motor then no converter will do any good. You need a more powerful panel.

Could you post a schematic? Do you have a capacitor on the output side of the inductor?
