Hi all I'm after some help please,
I'm installing a car 2post lift that I'm guessing was 3phase but when I got it it had no motor and all I could get was a single phase motor, now I'm scratching my head how to wire it up I've attached pictures if anyone can help

 

The control circuit will have to be changed in order to reverse the 1ph motor,
You have to look and see how the reverse has to be wired for the 1ph motor, hopefully it is not uni-directional type !.
Do you have a schematic for the old hoist motor control circuitry?

No sorry no schematic, unsure if the motor will run both ways, 4 wires and a capacitor on the motor,
I've made myself mad searching Google I'm gonna have no hair by the time it's running

 

If there is four conductors then it sounds like it is reversible, is the cap connected at the moment? If not you have to identify the two windings, start and run.

Doesn't tell much!
You would have to draw out the connections with the terminal numbers and show which the cap is attached to and measure and identify the two separate coil terminals, then it should be easy.
