Hi,
I have designed an expansion PCB for a 3D printer which I would like to share with you and ask for your opinion (what should I change/consider etc). It is a basically a board that you can connect more PWM fans, fans with tacho and thermistors. All can be supplied either by 24V external power supply or via USB.
Here are the things that I know I need to change:
- LM78-- change to switching regulator as the LDO will be producing a lot of heat. The PCB board will be in a fairly warm environment (35C ambient temp). I was thinking of changing it to something like this TSR 1-2450.
- Make the layout more compact as there is a lot of unused space in the middle of the PCB. And perhaps move all the smd'ies to the bottom layer.
- Change the push buttons to something more compact.

Looking forward for any comments/suggestions.
Thanks
Dan
