Hi. I'm new to this so please bare with me. I've tried numerous sites for resistor colour codes calculators but I can't figure out the codes for a 301K resistor.

It's a very basic question I know but I'm kind of stuck. Can someone help?

The first thing is to recognize the applicable "E" series. For 5% values (E24), the closest value would be 30k 300k because it only represents the first two significant digits with a multiplier.

EDIT: corrected typo.

E-series document attached along with band descriptions..

I thought the question is for a 301,000 ohm resistor. Not 30,000 ohm (301K / 30K). I'd think that with a 301K the only way you're going to get that kind of color banding it would inherently require four bands plus a tolerance band (if applicable). I have to agree with Mr Chips.
