Hello,
I’m looking for a circuit that could stabilize a 30-240V AC variable input into a 24V DC source.
So, if anybody knows if a circuit like this exists, or have Ideas to design one, I’m here for advices!

You're looking for a switchmode psu then...
A normal switchmode psu doesn't have such a wide input range as OP is requiring.
I am wondering about the origin and frequency of this 30-240 V input and the application, power and efficiency requirements of the 24V.
That will help deciding what's best to use.
Maybe an universal AVR will do?

Best regards,

Thank you for your fast reply!
The origin of the input is a phase of a small wind turbine. I need to power a controller I designed when the phase produce around 30V (AC).
My controller works with a 24 volt input, and I need to run it directly from the phase of the wind turbine, I can switch it on when the phase produce 30V and let it run until the wind turbine stops spinning.
This afternoon after asking in the forum I tried to power a small SMPS with a Variac, and the voltage of the SMPS was stabilized at 24V when the output of the variac was 28V! So my problem seems to be resolved. What do you think about my solution?

Here is the test, the multimeter on the left shows the output voltage of the SMPS and on the right, the output of the variac, feeding the SMPS

Well, it depends on the min-max voltage of your SMPS, because the variac doesn't automatically change it's ratio.
Other then that: 28Vac * sqrt(2) = max 40Vdc at no load. so when you start to draw current, the voltage will drop, so you will need to turn the variac again to make it stable, this is why AVRs exist.

I think the min max voltage of my SMPS is 100-240V, but I tried with a resistive load at 30V ac and it stayed 24V!
Plus my controller only need a really low power, so it might work.
Can you still give me some references of some AVRs that could also work?
I will take you up to date if you want to know if it worked with an SMPS.
Thanks a lot for your advices!
