hi
i have a handspring pda that runs on two AAA cells (total volts 2.4 volts).
i am fed up with using rechargeable cells , i have 3.6 volts lithium ion battery with the charger (those used in cell phones).

i want to use the 3.6 volts li-ion cell in my pda, how can i reduce the 3.6 volts to the required 2.4 volts-thanks

 

I would suggest a low dropout voltage regulator.

 

Doesn't a diode drop .6 volts, so two in series would be 1.2 volts. Your PDA might handle the 3.6 volts just fine as is though. New pair AA batteries are more then 3.0 volts... Should be some regulation built in to the PDA.

 

For voltage regulation, there are some transistor circuits you could check out. Just a line from the battery to the transistor and ground etc. Its pretty easy, and if you wanna do that just shoot me a PM, I can help.
