I've googled , but no result.
The person selling these on Ebay had no luck.

If that is a bottom view , then the configuration is right for my purpose (replacing a jfet in an old Minimoog oscillator and i prefer to have a straight drop in).
It would be nice if i could be certain that the diagram shown is that of a 2N4082.

Do you have the J-FETs? If so, you should be able to work out the pinout using a multimeter.

I've ordered them and believe the T0-71 pinout provided by Dennis will be a bottom view and all will be fine.
Still cannot work out why numerous attempts to google a data sheet flopped.
At least i won't die wondering.

One of the ubiquitous “component testers” would tell you the pinout automagically.

I have had very good success with this one, but there are many options for little money.

I'd assume it was the bottom view as that's what most datasheets I've seen used. Manufacturers don't seem to be paying to detail as much as they did in the old days...
