Hello guys! I'm planning to make a computer using breadboards and I'm stuck at the program counter. Are there any ics that has the function of 74163 (Reset, Load and Enable) but uses less chip? I don't want to use 4 ics just for the counter.... Thanks!

 

The closest I can find is 74ALS867 synchronous 8 bit counter. It's available in 24-pin skinny DIP packages. You'd still need 2 of them instead of 4 '163
