Where did the "27 A" rating come from?

Assuming it really is a 1 kohm resistor, you should be drawing about 10 mA. After 10 minutes, that would be roughly 1.5 mAh. That shouldn't present a problem for most 12 V batteries. But you need to give us more information about this "mini" battery you are using.

Can you supply the battery make and model number?

Are you sure that it is a 1 kohm resistor? It probably isn't two much less otherwise you'd be burning out the LED.

I think only two possible reasons:
(1) You get a old battery. It can not get much energy inside. You can test the volt of battery

(2)You make a wrong resistor, it's not 1K, maybe 100 or some others. If you feel the light of LED is too strong, you may check this resistor

the resistor is 1K

Hello,

The 12 Volts 27A batteries are normaly used for remote control devices:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Energizer-A27-27A-Key-Remote-Alkaline-12V-battery-GTCn-EX-2020-x-2-PCS/190761517026?_trkparms=aid=777003&algo=DISCL.MBE&ao=2&asc=41375&meid=cd064caf9b9542c3be26b5ee4736a9f0&pid=100012&rk=5&rkt=11&mehot=pp&sd=331737177471&_trksid=p2047675.c100012.m1985

They are not capable to draw a constant current for a long time.
Even a small 9 Volts battery might give better results.
For driving leds a long time, better use a couple of AA batteries in series.

You are correct, i am getting better results with 9v battery

Hello,

Why the mini high capacity 12v 27A battery dries/discharge after 10min?
Assuming it really is a 1 kohm resistor, you should be drawing about 10 mA. After 10 minutes, that would be roughly 1.5 mAh.
When looking at the table, the capacity should be about 22 mAh.
When you only can get about 1.5 mAh as WBahn calculated, you will have some bad batteries.

As said, the 9 Volts PP3 battery will last much longer.
The table states 565 mAh for the alkali type, wich is about 25 times more than the 27A battery.

Ah, the "27A" is the battery type, not the amperage rating. Didn't realize that. We see so many people that mistake the Ah rating for an amperage rating that I made a bad assumption here. My apologies.
