I know buck/step-up/step-down converters exist. I was just wondering if anyone could help me find one that will output 5v with a large range of input voltage. Specifically I was hoping to find one that will boost from around 1v at the lowest.

I found some on amazon and a few other sites but they all seem to be around 4.5-5v at the lowest. Maybe Im not using the right search terms?

Here is one I found thats not quite what im looking for: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B06XG2KPTS/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=AFHAE9RJVUMB&psc=1

From 24V drop down to 5V is not a good idea, because it will waste too much power consumption, and lose the converting efficiency and then it can't get enough current.

1. Where is the input voltage come from?
2. The range of input voltage is too width, so probably you should use two converters, the one is from as 1~12V to 5V, and another one is from as 12V~24V to 5V, and combine two converters to one output.

maybe LM2623. I can't remember but I think it has a little higher current rating.
LM2623 Looks perfect except I would like it to be able to handle 3 amps across the whole voltage range. That 1.1V start voltage is so nice however! Definitely going to use this one for a few other projects thanks!

Yea I decided the same thing. I can split the 24V into 2 x 12V and work from there. Still need to find a way to supply 2A constant draw with maybe the occasional spike going as high as 3A.
