DC thermostat

I have I have a thermostat that operates on 24 VAC and a heating system and cooling system that runs on 12vdc. what is the easiest way to inject or add an AC signal to trick the thermostat into thinking it has constant power, hence it will stay powered on and has an error that there is no power when there is no ac signal.
