can't we just drop the 2 balls? definitely the hollow gold ball sound different from the titanium ball......

 

I guess it would depend on whether the floor we dropped them on was considered "external test equipment." The ramps were not test equipment but the spoon was. But what if the floor were made of balsa wood and the balls were planet-sized?
