wrinting a letter in VGA by VHDL code

i have new course and i dont know how will i do it!i will write a word in VGA by VHDL code. The letter is not importened,(e.i R,B,M...). Can u help me? I searched but i could not find anyting. It can be simple but i am new and i dont know how and where can i find it. pls help...

The code depends a lot on your hardware. for a general simple example you can have a look at this site, this is only 8 colours VGA display with no DAC.
