Yes and no.

Definitely. It was a huge hit. I didn't despise it but like any pop hit, I got sick of hearing it so often.

I was in New Orleans with a Mexican friend the first time I heard it. He told me about it being popular. It was a good year before I began hearing it on the radio and in bars back home.

Few weeks ago I started to receive their suggestion through my gmail account that was never used to subscribe to anything. It is actually the sole spam I get in almost two years of usage.
