I'm just wondering how I would go about wiring a DC power jack to cut out the battery when it is plugged in, and how to make sure that it is a center negative jack. It has the switch portion included on it.

 

I'm just wondering how I would go about wiring a DC power jack to cut out the battery when it is plugged in, and how to make sure that it is a center negative jack. It has the switch portion included on it.

Here's a schematic showing how to wire the jack, but you will have to reverse the polarities from what's shown. (The battery would connect to TB2.)
