A couple of years al though I had bought some Wire wrap pins with help from other members in the forum. The source seems to have dried up on eBay. What are some of the other ways I might find these pins?
Are you looking for (a) DIP sockets with wire wrap pins (b) single socket with wire wrap pin (c) male header pins with long pins on one side or (d) straight pins that extend on both sides of a circuit board?
Last time I checked, wire wrap "post" pins were still available at DigiKey... Post pin insertion tools not so much but lots of wrap tools still. Lots of long pin/short pin headers still available all over the place. Solder short pin to board and wire wrap long pins.
From your breadboard picture in your constant current thread, are you just looking for something that you can use on solderless breadboards?
This says it's for quantity 1000 (count unverified). With shipping, that works out to about 10 cents each which isn't a bad price (they go for about $1 each at Mouser).
This one is about 3X the price per pin, but might fit your budget better:
I bought some of these back in the 1970's, but can't remember what I paid for them.
I prefer to use various 0.25" 0.025" square male headers:
They come in strips of 15-36 pins and I just cut them down to what I need.
Here's an assortment of some of the male headers I had on the bench. Along with a couple examples of the Vector terminals and a wirewrap SIP strip (in the middle, came in strips of 40) and the cutter I use for them.
Frankly, I am interested in length. The old ones I have are one inch and that's what I would like. I am willing to strip a header. if that's what it would take. Most of the male headers I have seen are much shorter than that.
The listing said the overall length is 15mm (0.59").
The length of the headers in the middle and right side of the plastic box are 1". The length of the 2x3 in the middle of the picture and left side of the box (cut down to 1x2) are 1.2". The one in the lower left of the box is 0.6".
I find the 1x5 (Samtec) that are 1" long to be too long. I usually end up cutting them in half lengthwise.
The 3 level wirewrap socket lead is a little over 0.5". Overall length is about 0.7".
