Here it comes. After a beautiful, generally above normal weather in southern Alberta, we are getting our first blast of winter tonight. Snowfalls up to 20cm and temps dipping to -20c by Friday.

One last time to run around the yard to make sure everything is picked up, water turned off, and check the vehicles' antifreeze.

Can't wait for the good ol' Chinook to blow out from the west.

You know what that means. We'll be getting a visit from Canada is several days in Dallas. Lovely, lovely.

 

Perhaps, but when a piece of the arctic comes acalling to Dallas we get freezing rain, not snow. We had 2 feet of snow last year, a first for many decades.

heard of them, they are dangerous. They have a bounty on them
check It out on wikipedia. In the Everglades they have Alligator
bounty hunts. Anyone for a dangerous tour, we have Cougars
on Miami Beach ,they are man eaters In silk.

 

Well the timing is just fine for me. Whitetail deer are just going into rut so I've booked the rest of the week off for a hunt. A bit of snow and a chill should have the big boys responding well to the rattle. Hate driving the highways though with the black ice.

Bow season runs from end of Aug to End of Oct. Was out for Elk a couple of times earlier as they rut around mid Sept. No luck there though.
