Does anyone happen to know if a transmitter would have any trouble sending a signal to a receiver in a glass housing enclosure?

Actually the frequency is 2.4GHZ

 

no it would not. only conductive materials or extreme thickness of non conductors will stop the signal.

Anything other than vacuum will absorb some of the signal and decrease the effective range. The question is how much. A little glass might only subtract a few percent (that excellent reference from sirch2 may give a better estimate), so it would only be a problem if you were already on the bleeding edge of the range.

 

The dialectic coefficient of velocity of glass can act as a lens that will change the radiation pattern of your transmitter. Glass is not transparent at RF frequencies, it is a delay line and a attenuator.

Simple answer: Try it, analysis is way to complex for this thread.

The type of glass will also have a great influence on the attenuation.
There is glass that contains a lot of lead.
This type of glass is used in x-ray equipment to stop the x-ray radiation going outside the cabinet.
