Why unshielded twisted pair wires are low-pass in nature.

The reason is that a twisted pair of wires has distributed series inductance and distributed shunt capacitance. These properties are expressed in Henrys per foot and Farads per foot with appropriate prefixes to select the magnitude. The simulation model would look like a long chain of L-sections which have a low pass characteristic. Coaxial cable depending on it's geometry has a much greater capacity to pass high frequency signals. Hardline is actually a wire inside a large metal cylinder and is not actually cable, more like bendable conduit with foam inside.
