Also the circuit in post #1 rectified the mains so the motor was running on DC. In that case a diode could have been placed across the load. You can't do that with AC or the supply will be shorted out one every other half cycle.

Yes you are completely right!!!
I am happy that i straight away did not put my self building one without asking questions or doubts here ! Or else I would have created a mess !! Thank you guys.
And am really looking forward for a solution . Please show me a way out to achive speed control on a AC ceiling fan . Triac control is creating humming noise which is irritating. And also nodemcu is busy in zero crossing loop.
Please show me a way out.

There are virtually no other (efficient) options for a 1ph induction motor, other than resistor, that could cause unwanted heating.
