I recently trashed my HP-35S because of a very flaky keyboard. From looking around the internet it seems that the only Reverse Polish Notation (RPN) calculator still being manufactured is the HP-12 financial calculator. Not quite what I am looking for.

Is this the end of RPN in engineering calculators?
SwissMicros makes knockoffs still of older HP calculators. I like their form factors better. Or you can get Emu48 on computers or cell phones.

The short answer is that the only quality HP calculators I have found are brand new inbox that have been sitting on someone’s shelf for about 30 years or less. I’ve got two original HP 35S calculators and they are not for sale. They have solid keyboards and solid hardware and were built when the original standards were in place by the original manufacturer. I used to talk with the design team in Corvallis about functions and upgrades and they told me the office was being closed down, but HP was going on to other projects. I think I got a 35s from Amazon brand new inbox. I think I got one from eBay also brand new in box. My original HP 35S cost me $65 and that was so many years ago, I don’t remember where I put it. Like I said they’re not for sale. They’re going to my children when I’m done with them. more recent HP calculators don’t have that positive action tactile click that I loved so much in 1971 with my first HP 35 and then I went to college , I bought the HP calculators that had additional memory slots and I haven’t seen those models even used internet areas. The HP 33E and 34C got me through calculus and simple programming and helped me on my way to be a file server and operating systems engineer for a fortune 50 financial institution. I’ve not seen 33e or 34c in years, and I don’t even know if today’s buttons with SOLVE written on them can do what my original calculators could do. I guess the short answer is “no” HP ain’t making them like they used to.
If you have an iPhone, there are emulators for the 15 C that has a SOLVE button and that’s only a few dollars. I haven’t looked much further than that.
