Hello KV! Good to see you over here!

I never realized you even had an account here :D

Nice to see you posting, anyway. Hope you have better luck with your project here than you did at ETO :p

Best wishes,
Matt
Thanks, D8. It's alway's a pleasure.

Some members from ETO post here. I don't want mud slinging to finds it's way here by osmosis. These folks seem to have their heads on right and don't read into every tiddle that bleeds from their heads.

It's sad when you end up with Mob Mentality from one or two screaming faces.:D

Did I say that:rolleyes:

Don't sweat it, the moderators here take our piece keeping duties very seriously. This will stay a friendly place to visit, or else. :)
Based on some of the Threads. You do....

You have to have a cool head when, or not to pull the plug :Yank::Slide:

Like it or not. I alway's respect the mods.;)

Ain't I a Gem:p

I know my wife thinks sooo.....I wonder why sometimes she hides me in the closet, when company stops over.

She only pulls me out, to stuff light bulbs in my mouth when the conversations die out.

My picture's around here somewhere. Wonder if I should change my avatar.....

No way, I like it. I really shouldn't have changed my first Monkey's on ETO.

Most people couldn't get my new Avatar and wanted them back. But, it was to late.

FWY: Maybe it's just me but, I don't think it's right when people post under a different user either.

Deceptive

Regards,
kv

Hello.

Me:
58 retired.
Sold a data systems networking company.
I enjoy valves. Specifically "receiving" valves.
I have a collection of ECC88 variants for use in a hybrid headphone AMP
Specifically a Schiit Lyr.

I know next to nothing about board level electronics.
But I have built a bit of a lab (Fluke 88, Rigol DS1052E, Protoboard 103) and I'm grabbing every little tidbit knowledge to help me understand electronics. I have come to realize I need to start at ground zero.
With my fascination of valves, I have ripped apart a B&K model 606 tube tester. I wish to rebuild it with new components and provide test taps for a multimeter and oscilloscope so I might be able to experiment.

Welcome iamnothim!

Sounds like you'll fit in very well with some of the old geezers here ;)

OK...who am I? Good question. Perhaps I should start with who I am not. I am NOT a member who was recently banned from here and I just started posting here a short time ago. It was a bumpy experience for myself being a new member that some here believed to be the return of this banned individual as unfortunately...accusations flew and being taken by surprise...I made the mistake of responding negatively.

I just would like to say that I regret responding in such a manner and hold no grudges against anyone here. I hope that this will clear the air and perhaps we can all start anew and I apologize for hurting anyones feelings.

That said...who am I? I am a person who enjoys a good conversation or debate as well as I enjoy learning from others as much as I can. I have no issue being proven wrong as it is always better to be proven wrong and learn something from it than going on with false knowledge. I also have no problem asking a question about something I do not know rather than go on pretending to know or understand a specific or concept in ignorance.
As far as my background...there are a few things I cannot go into for security reasons but I can tell you I have three professions. One is in Music and Sound as I record and tour with a known International Touring Band...as well as own a recording studio as well as being familiar and capable of running it...although I let others do this. The second is helping run several family owned or created Companies one of which is specific to Medicine and Health Care. The third...JOB...is one that is connected or specific to the first listed here as I sometimes work with members of the U.S. Military. I am NOT military but rather I am "CIVILIAN" in the way the quotes denote. I keep trying to retire from this but I am needed so I keep getting sucked into working...which does tend to take a toll on me.
I have multiple degrees as well as I am an expert in such fields as Survival, SCUBA and other forms of Diving as I use Heliox when diving depths in excess of 210 feet which is 8 atmospheres of pressure which means if one was to breath compressed air one would be taking in 8 times as much Nitrogen and Oxygen per breath even though the ratio's of both remain at about 80% Nitrogen to 20% Oxygen per breath. This of course leads to Nitrogen Narcosis the Bends and Death.
I have had a vast amount of Life Experiences and have obtained a great deal of knowledge but I am always ready to learn more.

Hello everyone, thought I might introduce myself. I am currently studying B/Eng (Hons) Electronic Engineering at Staffordshire University, completing a years industrial placement working for "Capula". They are a company based in the UK who "specialise in advanced automation control and real-time IT solutions for Energy and Utility companies."

Mid June I will be travelling to the USA for the first time ever, to work at a Science and Engineering camp called "Watonka" in PA for 2 months, before touring for a month and returning home to complete my final year of studies.

In the future I hope to secure a job in this area with international job prospects, with a view of moving abroad.

Besides Electronics, my other hobbies and interests include, modular origami, website development, SCUBA diving and model railways.

@ Spinnaker, what did I do to have you to give me a bum rap so much ,you travel

with your laptop and have said you bully your way, even if you have to get phyical.

I get thru the world using good judgement and go where things take me. I have

attended many conventions. So why do you give the impression that I am low life.

I stand on my two feet and still treat bullies as needed ,I still don't have to walk

away. But my choice is face to face with words. If I met you face to face knowing

you or not knowing you....you would not be more presentable....you may be totally

out of place......convince me with words otherwise.....respect the Loosewire untill

you have a good reason....besides my swimming trunks,I am naked to the world for

opinion. Post a picture ready to take a flight.
