I'm new here, so I thought I'd post an intro here. I'm finishing up my PhD in atmospheric physics and MS in EE this spring. I work with a holographic imaging probe that we mount to an airplane to fly though clouds to record 3D cloud particle volumes.

I forget to introduce my self :D I study Msc in Electronics Design in Mittuniversitetet,Sweden. Meanwhile I got my Msc thesis in Germany that's why I moved here to germany. cheers

I'm impressed with the knowledge base on this forum.
It's like a bunch of PhD's in that they come up with different ways to solve a problem.
Way over my head!

Hi, new member intro. Never tried to do anything electronics related before. But since Xmas I am now the proud owner of 2 Rasp Pi's, Arduino Uno, various 'bits', numerous books to learn, and plenty of passion to get started.

I look forward to picking brains! Mmmm yummy.

How come the person who's never done anything with those types of things suddenly gets a huge stockpile, and here I am getting socks and pillowcases? :D:D:D

Good to have you on the forum leveller! Hopefully we can learn a lot from each other!

Happy New Year!
Regards,
Matt

Exactly--you never know. I've been here for almost two years and I'm still learning a lot from other members, even some newbies :p

You never stop learning until you're dead. And even then, who knows? :D

Best wishes,
Matt

Hi all, I'm kind of new to electronics and joined this forum to learn and ask all kind of questions that will probably make you laugh! I'm very mechanicly inclined and can build just about any thing but I find my specialty with circuitry is to blow stuff up or smoke it..lol I hope I can get up to speed with this group, and Hope I can help some one else down the line.

....:)

Hi,

I found this forum sometime last fall when searching for information on some IC (forgot which one). Then I started reading and discovered that in order to see drawings I had to be a member, so I registered. A while later I figured, I could probably even contribute to the discussions. And sooner or later I might have a question about something, but even then, it is interesting to see what else is going on.

I have been building, trying out, fixing, and designing various electronic circuits since the first radio receiver I made using a ZN414 back in 1974 in high school. Eventually I got the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Although my main job these days is software development and maintenance, I still haven't forgotten the electronics -- I frequently find myself sitting at the boundary of software and hardware, where the 0s and 1s in the software translates into various voltage levels on the wires.

Following the development is also interesting ... as many old ICs become obsoleted and new ones appear, there is always some new (to me, that is) areas to investigate and concepts to try out.

Hello KV! Good to see you over here!

I never realized you even had an account here :D

Nice to see you posting, anyway. Hope you have better luck with your project here than you did at ETO :p

Best wishes,
Matt
