I'd pick something that would show case your understanding of what you've been taught and, at the same time, addresses some need that you've seen.

1) You need to pick a project that satisfies the requirements of that course.
2) You asked strangers to tell you which project would be good.
3) You didn't tell said strangers what the requirements of said course are.
