I have X2 capacitors 0.47uF

You can use 2x in parallel for the 1uF so you need 3 pcs

Generally speaking these are TENTA brand yellow X2 capacitors

Also have a lot of ERO capacitors which are good quality.

These are 0.33uF with integrated 100R

Sure metal film capacitors wear out over the years from spikes and surges on the grid maybe you could test them with a DMM that has capacitor tester but might not be able to create same condition as powered up under high voltage.

The parts on the PCB look quite old 20 years or more

The failed ones I have come across do show a significant loss of capacitance on a DMM.

Thanx for the post Takao, ive already ordered the capacitors that Albert linked to me, we've had quite alot of power outages and surges around here for years, im replacing all caps on the board, not going to take the chance, if that doesnt work ill go to the next step. Thanx for the offer though !

Hey there Albert,

I received the capacitors today, i wanted to ask, which way should i mount them ? I take it i should look at the writing at the top and match it ? Considering the old capacitors on the board, all i do is discharge them with a screw driver and de solder right ? Ive only mounted radial electrolytic caps so hopefully theres nothing really special about these caps ? Thanks man

Discharging is a safe practice.
They are not polarised like electrolytic capacitors so it doesn't matter which way round you fit them.

Thanx man, really appreciate your help, ill probably have to use a rubberized plier to discharge it on the board as the axial mounting wont work with a screwdriver.
