Where do I start? Simulating Single Signal Driver

Hello all!

I'm an undergrad EE student and I've begun research under my circuits professor. Im currently in the learning phase of the research which revolves around me analyzing a research paper, mastering the topics within, and then presenting what I've learned!

I've been watching youtube videos, and reading through the material provided on this website about BJT transistors and how they work. Which has been very informative. I can watch Youtube videos all day, but I dont really learn well until I start simulating.

As the title says I am having the hardest time trying to figure out how to obtain values for the circuit! Resistor values mainly.. I've used Pspice all throughout my college career, but running off and trying to simulate circuits without much information has proven to be a challenge.

I will provide screenshots of the entire circuit! and the drive itself (what I'm trying to simulate). And any graphs that may or may not be useful. As well as a short description of the drivers design from the paper itself!

If someone could assist me in how to determine the correct values that would be great!

Note: I'm at work so I wont be able to reply until tomorrow morning!

I would quit wasting my time with you-tube videos. IMHO they are near useless for understanding circuits. You problem is more fundamental than choosing resistors. Your problem is that you have no idea what the transistors are supposed to do. Do you even realize that there are two different types in the diagram. I would start trying to understand what is going on by finding a complementary pair of transistors you could use. Once you understand what is going on you can refine your requirements for those two parts.

One more thing. The circuit diagram is only an incomplete abstract. I don't think it is meant to be a practical circuit.

your circuit.PNG misses some control signal paths +possibly required filters ,
and the (type and variation range of the) output load ?or should you just drive a ∞Ω 0H 0F voltage point to get familiarized with the driver

+ anything - complex MCU - is near impossible to succeed to be simulated in conjunction with inductive circuitry - if you have too little spice experience to master the cascade of problems and specific situations such combination throws at you

thus you've made a good point just to simulate the output driver for the beginning

this site (likely) has . . . usable examples a PWM (me can't find PPM PFM)
