What's the most efficient & fool proof way to store energy?

How much were you thinking about scaling up from 15,000 Megawatt-hours? :D
no man, sheesh, scaling down. Some things I've looked into are only efficient, (or more accurately cost effective) if done on massive scale. Scaling it down to household size make it no longer a viable solution. I'm hoping this isn't one of them.

This gives me an idea for air conditioning. If you pump water up more than 30 feet and open a drain at the bottom of the tank, the vacuum formed at the top of the tank will chill the water toward the freezing point. Look Ma, no Freon!

Edit: Just kidding. The vapor generated trying to chill a significant amount of water would require a huge tank, like 100 times the size of the resulting chilled water. That's why air conditioning isn't done with this method.
