I've found this circuit:

What would I be hearing on my FM-receiver? And how do I know that it is working?

Hello,

It is not clear at wich frequency the circuit will work.
You will probably only hear the noise dissapear on an FM recievers as there is no modulation.

I was planning to turn it on, and put my FM radio beside it, and start turning the search wheel, but I'm not quite sure what to expect, except the usual radio stations.

What sort of noise?

Hello,

When the FM reciever is not tuned to a radiostation you can hear a hiss sound
(there are recievers with a squelch to suppress it).

When there is a "station" without modulation the output of the reciever will be not heard.
