What should be done for applications that may encounter transient overvoltage events higher than the LT4320 absolute maximum rating?

Hi, guys!
The LT4320 is ideal diode bridge controller that drives four N-channel MOSFETs, supporting voltage rectification from DC to 600Hz typical. What should be done for applications that may encounter transient overvoltage events higher than the LT4320 absolute maximum rating?
I would appreciate it if you could help me out.
Best regards!
Joan

Welcome to AAC!
Logically, you must either add transient-suppression components upstream of the LT4320, or else find an alternative IC which can withstand the transients. How you do that depends on your circuit.

I put a 16v zener diode and 2w 10 ohm resistor across my vehicle circuits power feeds. Everything been OK since.
