1. To control things........such as a lite bulb.
2. The lite switch in your room.
3. Allows work to be performed at nite.

 

^^^ he he funny ... but a 100% valid answer to the question as posed..

 

I was taught that analog was like a pump handle and digital was like a lite switch.
With a pump handle...one has to continuously input....to get a continuous output.

But with a switch........you don't need the continuous input, to get a continuous output.
With digital, we don't have to keep applying input.......we just need to decide the output.

Analog applies....digital decides.
