what IC or component is this: KJGA7. diode bridge ?

There is a connector near your blown part. It is labled J9. Is that a USB connector? If it is then D9 might be protection components for the USB data lines.


Something like a NUF2030XV6 or NUF2042XV6, for example?

Yes, Between j9 and j10 that's mini USB connector. That one on the very left partially visibly is Ethernet connector. either can use etherent or USB to connect to pc, i tried both and neither are working so after this component burnt.

got TEA1731. its slightly larger than original part was but i soldered it in.
still device doesnt work. perhaps this is incorrect part.

also when i plug the GM MDI into computer an error pops up "usb device not recognized"
and the part gets very hot.
most likely this is not the correct part.
hopefully i didnt do more damage to this device
