Just my personal opinion and others will disagree with me, but here's my Two Cents Worth.

The layout of the new site is a prime example of the saying "Hell Remodeled" and the owner of AAC should just reinstate the old site. :(

This is better than the old site, except now it takes a lot more scrolling to get through a forum. I think there is too much white space, but that's the only thing I can see to improve at the moment. Even the "Insert Quotes" button is working again.

This is equivalent to saying, "My Ford Model A worked just fine. Henry Ford should just start making them again." The old software was old, insecure and no longer supported - thus the necessity of the upgrade.

Things that I don't like:
1) only 10 posts show on the "RECENT POSTS" display;
2) the loss of the Greek letters and other symbols (the old "S" button) in the reply window;
3) things being in different positions from the previous version;
4) there are probably other things that will pop up and I'll not like.

All in all, the transition to this newer version was fairly smooth. I'm hoping that some of the issues that people are pointing out get addressed soon. At least I don't have to look at a god-awful orange colored page with the AAC "Classic" style.

As it has been said here a few times over the years,"this isn't a democracy". You don't need to participate if you don't like the way it looks or is run, it's that simple. XenForo sets the rules for the forum software, AAC and it's owners have no say over it. Other forums using XenForo changed long ago and are working.

Reminds me of a motto we have around here which is 'If it's right, we can always change it!' :)

For one, I would wager that the majority of regular users here switch to the Classic view,
I visit several sites, and many have implemented a 'New and Improved' version. Very few actually resulted in a improvement IMO.
Max.

The TeX rendering sucks rocks. The normal size is too small and the the "\large" tag does not work. AND YOU STILL CAN'T render TeX in blog posts. Also the TeX is centered which makes multiple lines look like crap. No S button with Greek letters and special symbols. All in all a pretty good imitation of a CF.

As a rule I tend to go with an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude. In particular, I do not like change for the sake of change -- I hate it when stores move their merchandise around just so that customers have to look around to find the things that they knew exactly where they were and, in the process, will hopefully see stuff that they've been blissfully overlooking and buy some of it. The same with software upgrades that change the user interface needlessly -- I'd rather stay with the devil I know, most of the time.

But the AAC site has needed to be upgraded for some time if for no other reason than the version that was being run had some significant security vulnerabilities (though not nearly as critical as even earlier versions did), so while I would generally prefer that the upgrade only dealt with transparent security issues and left the interface alone, I will put up with the rather mild interface changes in exchange for the security improvements.
