Yes, but since they took $500+ off the repair, I'm not going to demand it. Probably not worth my time to get it and try to fix it and resell it, but I'm tempted ...

it sure looks like there was liquid splashed on it

 

Is that vertical slot on the right-hand side of the above pic (post #23) original (to allow assembly of the black part around the control knobs), or is it a crack which occurred after manufacture? If the former then it is a poor design, since it could allow water ingress.
