Was There a Civilization On Earth Before Humans?

Well, let's see.

We (at least claim) to learn a lot about humans dating back to the the earliest days of man based on a few bare foot prints left in the sand along the coasts, not to mention the trash left around prehistoric campfires.

We also (at least claim) to learn a lot about animals and plants, all the way down to microbes, based on the remnants not only of them, but of what they ate and what they did, going all the way back 3.5 billion years.

So, yeah, if those claims have any validity, then you can bank on any kind of industrialized pre-human civilization leaving more than enough evidence behind for us to detect their existence.

So I just watched the video that was linked and it was a total waste of time -- nothing but eco-political tripe. It wasn't even attempting to ask whether it would be possible to detect a previous industrial civilization; it merely wanted to berate humans for everything it could.

Really? The evidence that we would leave would be our impact on the global warming? Gee, guess that MUST mean that there have been countless prior industrial civilizations. The evidence that we would leave would be the increased erosion rates? At least the trash claim is real -- but they went out of their way to make it appear that our trash is the only direct evidence of our existence that will exist. That some future inhabitants couldn't possibly find any evidence at all of our cities, our cemetaries, our dams, our earthworks (beyond, of course, the higher erosion rates), our tunnels, anything that might still be in orbit or on the surface of the moon or Mars or any place else. The ONLY thing that will be left for them to find will be our trash dumps.

Pure tripe.

There have been at least five major ice ages in the Earth's history (the Huronian, Cryogenian, Andean-Saharan, Karoo Ice Age, and the current Quaternary glaciation). Outside these ages, the Earth seems to have been ice free even in high latitudes.

I guess we had 5 global warming too lol maybe the first 4 civilizations was so Advanced they took it all with them trash and all
lol.

Surely we would have found some evidence. Stainless steel nuts and screws for instance, tungsten bits, lots of other stuff would be dug up . There would be no way to completely hide some evidence of a previous advanced civilization(even if they melted the surface with a "death ray")
