Cool! What frequency for mosquito's? How about pesky flies at the picnic table? Better still, English Paper Wasps? We have a ton of them. They nest in the overhead junction box on the telephone pole. Numerous complaints to the company results in them coming out and using zip ties to close the cover, but it's broken open again by spring time and the wasps return. EVERY YEAR! And spraying them 1) is not easy they're up so high the can can't spray that far; 2) I have a pond near by and don't want to harm my expensive fish.

I would think that gizmo is more likely to attract insects than repel them (if indeed they take any notice of it).

The data show, for the first time, significant sex- and species-specific differences in acoustotactic responses. A. aegypti exhibited a greater response to sound stimulus compared to An. gambiae, and the response also extended over a larger range of frequencies. Furthermore, the males of both species displayed a greater acoustotactic response than females, with An. gambiae females exhibiting minimal response to sound.

Reminds me of an old friend's grandmother who ran a boarding house in East Tennessee back in the day. She heard a commotion downstairs late one night so she lit her bedside lamp and went downstairs to see what was going on. Halfway down the stairs she saw some men rummaging around and one turned to her and held his shotgun on her and commanded her to come down and show them where she had her money. She responded "Thievery is a sin and I'll have nothing to do with sinning" and turned around and went back to bed.

This seems like the kind of thing you would get if you gave the winner of 3rd grade science fair a government subsidy instead of a medal. (But still cool)
