No, but if you put it down on low load bearing soils and fill dirt on top of it you can build a road across a swamp or marsh. We use a lot of geotextiles down here on the Georgia marsh coast for roadbuilding. Very cost effective considering the alternatives! For landslide protection, the put down a similar mat and drill and bolt it into the rock and then spray the mat with a concrete mix to hold it all in place. Lots of big cuts also use geotextiles to prevent rockfall. Actual land slippage is a difficult bear to deal with.

Cool new gas engine ? ? ?
Sure. It's cool, it's new, and it's a gas engine. But the extraordinary claims are a turnoff. It is obviously more than 30lbs, and isn't connected to any dyno to show the power output. There have been revolutionary new engine technologies every year supposedly poised to compete with piston engines, almost since piston engines were created. How many have dethroned the king? Only the wankel radial engine is actually used with any regularity and it still holds a distant #2 spot. I would like to see a real contender but I won't hold my breath.
