Cool video. Reminds me of when I was a boy with a 12 volt transformer, a fin rectifier and a car radio. The radio had a horrible hum. Someone told me I needed to put a capacitor on it. So I took a 16VDC cap, don't recall the µF, and put it on the output after the rectifier. Did nothing to reduce the hum so I put it before the rectifier. Still humming. So I then put it on the 120VAC side of the transformer. I got exactly what they got - an exploding missile. I think I was probably between 10 and 14 years old with absolutely no electronics training.

Have seen that video on YT. However, I've avoided clicking on it because it's one of those over-unity machines. In other words, it's bogus and I don't click on video's that YT users employ to get extra views in order to enrich themselves.
It's not bogus. "Perpetual" is a hyperbole used as part of its name. There's a circuit embedded in its base that propels the ball every time it slides right on top of it.

It's a nifty little toy.
