As you can see, the electrical energy doesn't travel in the wire. The energy is in space and heats the wire almost uniformly as energy from space goes into the wire as thermal KE.

Now THAT's a cool video.
Those blue dots - - - I wonder if they're similar to lightning sprites. Those sprites are jets of something going up into the upper atmosphere.

His search for the Titanic concealed a top-secret military operation. How the iconic discovery unfolded

“What people didn’t know at the time, at least a lot of the people, was that the Titanic (search) was cover for a top-secret military operation I was doing as a naval intelligence officer,” Ballard said. “We didn’t want the Soviets to know where the submarine was.”

A fish story.
https://www.oregonlive.com/living/2...atch-rare-9-foot-marlin-off-oregon-coast.html
Catching a marlin off Oregon’s coast is a story most anglers only dream about. Odds are, you’ve never met anybody who knows anybody who has ever caught one in Oregon’s ocean waters. It’s rarer than hen’s teeth. It’s equivalent to winning the lottery or getting a full house while playing solitaire. Most Oregon anglers will go their whole lives without a single bite.
...
Parker was the first to take the rod. “We started to freak out at first, and then we realized, holy cow, this thing’s not stopping. It went for, you know, a five- or six-hundred-foot run — just whizzing off.”

The next day, after the marlin was vacuum-sealed and stored and the Afishionado scrubbed clean, the crew sat down with friends and family to share the catch. “It was delicious both grilled and smoked on the Traeger, and we then made ceviche with it, which was amazing,” Watkins said.
On the smoker. :D

Worked with even bigger capacitors when working for the Naval Power Systems in Milwaukee. Not "Collectively" bigger, each cap was larger than any one of those caps.

On the subject of high voltage:
And yes, I realize the capacitors in post #1109 are in parallel, not series. No high voltage there. But still a very high amount of energy.

My first though at seeing the post was -- yeah, well, so does nitroglycerin. When I opened the video and they mentioned Nobel, I thought it was going to be limited to being about this liquid that explodes when shaken, assuming that the viewer had never heard of nitroglycerin before. But it actually turned out to be fairly interesting, even though I already knew the majority of its content. Enough new subtle details to make it worth watching, despite the annoying ads and losing count of how many time Henry exclaims, "Oh my God!" or "That's too sick!" and giggles. But it seemed like the ads got more frequent as the video went on, to the point where I almost gave up.
