I have a wall clock in my home. Which just requires a 5V AA battery to run.
Unfortunately, It doesn't work even when I insert the battery with proper polarity.

What might be the problem with my clock ?
Please help.

It's broken?
Your battery isn't as good as you think?
Your clock battery terminals are corroded?
It's an atomic clock and you aren't receiving a signal in India?
The battery is fine. Its new.
The clock is also good.
The terminals are also clean and neat.

I didnt understand the last question. Could u explain the concept behind the last question?
Please.
Thanks.

If you are not being facetious, that wont keep the clock from running, it just won't keep the exact time.
The "atomic" clock typically receives the time signal once a day in the early morning hours to correct any errors in the crystal oscillator from the previous 24 hours.

Not necessarily. I have one which resets the hands to 12 o'clock and waits for the radio signal - no signal, no movement.
