I am working on a portable dvd player. The volume starts out normal, but after about 30 seconds it fades completely out. I replaced one bad capacitor but I am at a loss as it still fades. I am kinda a newby but really enjoy working on pcb's.
In the picture it was the one in the bottom left corner. 16v 470 uF. It was the only one that was visibly bad. All the others look perfect. That is the DC in right above it.Which cap did you replace on the board?
I think you are referring to the battery plug in. The chip is bq2057w then 484 then ZCHJ. It is the chip beside the capacitor I replaced. Can you read the number on that 8 pin surface mount chip to the right of the headphone jack?
I didn't see it before the chip beside the headphone jack is CHMCS12 then D4510.Can you read the number on that 8 pin surface mount chip to the right of the headphone jack?
I am not sure it was bloated and only read half the nF's. I have replaced about half the caps but they all read good when I removed them. What caused that cap you replaced to go bad?
I am curious as to why the volume starts out good but fades to nothing. Loss of voltage? What caused that cap you replaced to go bad?
I believe that chip next to it is a voltage regulator which may also be defective causing the issue.
I think the cap just was aged. The dvd player is a 2005.What caused that cap you replaced to go bad?
I believe that chip next to it is a voltage regulator which may also be defective causing the issue.
I believe that chip controls battery charge.I am curious as to why the volume starts out good but fades to nothing. Loss of voltage?
That chip may control battery charge, but it may also control other voltages. What caused that cap you replaced to go bad?
I believe that chip next to it is a voltage regulator which may also be defective causing the issue.
Durabrand DUR-7 Motherboard has PVS1262/127AUnderstand.
What's the make and model # of the player?
Yes I am selecting proper format. The headphones fade as the speaker volume does. Are you selecting the correct audio format number when playing a disc?
Does the audio fade out using headphones ?
