Hi everyone I’m doing a project that requires 12v dc power. Portable speaker.

I will be using 18650 batteries but I’m having some concerns regarding their charging.
I’m thinking to make 3x batteries connected in parallel with 1s BMS for charging. I have a few witch have type-c input. I would prefer this way as the bms have charging indicator and battery full indicator.
This will also be more convenient than to need a proprietary charger in case I will be using 3s battery and bms

if I use a voltage step up module to get the 12v I need will the bms or charging be actually affected?

Will it be better to build the 3x battery as a 3s with 3s bms?

You can get USB C chargers which step up the voltage to charge 3S batteries. You'll also need a 3S "BMS" (or more accurately PCM: Protection Circuit Module), preferably one that includes balancing. If it doesn't, balancing modules can be purchased separately. Another option is a dedicated lithium-ion charger that puts out 12.6 volts; not to be confused with an AC adapter; it'll have an LED to indicate charging/done.
