I have made this regulator as per the attached drawing and data sheet.

When I applied power the voltage was the same as the input as I increased the input so did the out put it never was at the 12 volts I thought it would regulate at,

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

 

My sincere apologies I made a really stupid mistake, I connected the Input to the output. Swopped the wires around and all good.

It should work OK, a common error is having the Pinout the wrong way around, double check, post a photo if possible.
