Hello all,
Tried to find the answer on the net but with not much luck.....

With a standard piece of Vero board:

If a Thyristor was soldered into one of these boards and 20v was conducting across the anode and cathode, what would be a safe limit for the amount of Amps at 20v for the tracks on the Vero board to handle ???

Many Thanks
Paul

According to the original Vero spec the area of a strip is equal to 39g which is rated to carry 2 amps for 1 second before fusing.
Yours may vary!

You can increase the current carrying capability of a trace by soldering a bare copper wire or braid all along the trace.
Use rosin flux to make the soldering easier.
Solder is not a particularly good conductor, having about 10 times the resistivity of copper, so it doesn't add all that much by itself.
