Hello all, I used a LM741 to buffer my signal generator to my RLC BSF.

The input from the sig gen was sine wave with RMS 2V and it buffers correctly. When I go above this the wave becomes distorted.

My VCC is +12v and -12v please help as I looked online, is it try it won't work correctly at such low voltages

 

Can you post the schematic so that we can follow what you are trying to convey?

What is "this"?
What is the signal frequency?
The 741 is an ancient device with low frequency response and output slew-rate, so that's likely your problem.

 

It could also be simply too much gain leading to clipping.
Post the schematic please.

 

Certainly, given that we are not given the circuit nor the gain, that the amplifier is going into a non-linear portion of it's operation.
