i'm trying to us old cords and usb power etc... I know what is power +
and neg on a USB A. But which is power in and which is power out,
the pos or the neg????:confused:

There's no data in and data out. They use the same link, which is a differential link D+ and D-. The page beenthere referenced above shows the pinouts.

Well... still no.

There are no data in and data out wires. Both D+ and D- form a bidirectional differential signal data link between the host and peripheral, which the direction is protocol controlled by the host.

Please refer to USB standard.

I think what is being said here is that the in out control is a software solution.(traffic control scheme)

Looks to me like you want to know about RS-232 pinout. You might just get a RS-232 to usb adapter. saves the driver problem.
