I am working in USB hub design process. The current USB hub has USB 3.1 Type A connector in USB UP stream side. I want to replace it with USB-C connector, I am thinking about just connecting wires as both connectors has same pins but in different locations. Please check my connection and let me know it is right or wrong?

 

That should work at least for USB 2.

There is no guarantee that the source will drive both the a and B side of the USB C connector,
so you need to connect in parallel the A and B sides,

You need to connect the CC pins , so that the host knows which way up the plug is.

make up a test cable and try it out.

 

I updated the design as your comments, and I hope this should be the working design. since host is a computer and this work as slave, I grounded CC pin with a resistor.

 

I am having a similar issues and wondering if I could get some help. I am designing a PCB that has 2x USB C that act as a pass thru. My goal is to act like a USB-C cable My connections work but I cannot rotate the connectors. They are very polarized. I have tried several times (rev 4) and at lost on what I am doing wrong to provide ability to provide USB-C functionality and ability to rotate the connector.
