Looks like the eruption that's wreaked havoc on south east Hawaii has calmed down and there's no visible lava flowing from the notorious Fissure 8.

Note all the red rock in the cone and the lava flow. That must be rust from the so called "Magnesium Ferric" magma that's been flowing up from the outer core of the earth. In fact, that kind of eruption must have been what created the orange/red surface of Mars.

If you want 43-1/2 minutes of soothing white noise to go to sleep by, here's what some people living next to the Kilauea Volcano got in Hawaii last year:

May 3Rd, 2019 marks the first anniversary of the eruption of the Kilauea Volcano in the town of Leilani Estates in Hawaii.

Residents looked on in horror as lava gushed from cracks in the yards of nearby homes and streets.

Right now, the entire system has been declared dormant, but the mantle plume below the earth's crust will eventually recharge the magma reservoir and eruptions will resume.
