Unconnected trace that should be connected in datasheet

Hi Yall.

Here is a screenshot of a datasheet.

Those diodes are ESD diodes. The top most part of the vertical line, which seems like it is hanging in thin air, is where a DC voltage is applied ( according to an explanation from the datasheet ).

My question is why are the didoes not all the way connected to the vertical line? Why are they disconnected? Does it mean something? Are they tryin to tell us that these diodes are optional? Why would they have diodes in the schematic and not connect them? I have seen a lot of datasheets but never seen something like this before.

( The datasheet is from an European manufacturer and I am wondering if people in Europe have different rules/ interpretations for their datasheets )

Thanx 4 the replies!

Almost certainly an oversight. My guess is that the diodes were probably originally to the right of their current position and the CAD person selected them and moved then to center up on the capacitor and thought the connections were going to "rubber band" and extend, but instead they accidentally just moved the wires and didn't catch it.
