The sentence might read better as: "The approximate gain of the C-E amplifier in the figure below is -RL/REE."

The b is probably a leftover from a reference to a Figure b in an earlier version.

Not to be concerned. Dennis Crunkilton is the Ebook editor. He looks in to this forum now and again to find corrections to apply to it.
