Trying to figure out what this connector is please help

Hey guys I'm trying to root my set top box but there are no micro usb ports on my set top box to plug a cable into so I decided to open it up and found this connector that has nothing plugged in it could you guys tell me what connector this is and if I could upload software through this connector from a cable is some sort1543472436368.jpg

That connector looks like a standard keyed, 4-pin connector. JST is a common brand (http://www.jst.com/home21.html) as are TE and Molex.

However, knowing what the connector is per se doesn't tell you what it can be used for. On the MB of my computer, there are connectors like that that go by cable to the USB inputs. However, the same looking connector also goes to a 1394 ( Firewire ) input.
